nOTiOn iNk’s aDaM

All that an Indian need is a bit of Initiative. We all know that the person to design the intel processor was an Indian, but have you ever thought, if he was capable why didn’t he developed it in India itself. Does India lack some resources or brains? Or is it just an Initiative.

Notion Ink is a company founded by six IITans and an MBA grad, with an average age of 24. They believe India has what it takes to compete with the most innovative tech companies in the world. This July they are coming up with a product “ADAM”, can also be known as an “iPad Killer”.

ADAM is an Android based smartpad, which runs on Nvidia Tegra T20 Chipset (an Ultra Low Power NVidia Graphics Processing Unit). Adam uses android, ubuntu and chormium as its software platform. It has a 3MP 180 degree Swivel Autofocus Camera. A low power LCD display which is visible in sunlight and can be used to read ebooks. 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth, Multi-Touch support and an unmatched battery life, 140 hrs of Audio and over 16 hrs of HD video playback. You can browse net on it using Firefox, Chrome. Along with this you also have an Ambient Light sensor which adjusts its screen resolution and brightness based on the available light, AGPS (Assisted GPS), proximity sensor for the autofocus camera and Accelerometer (to understand your motion senses). If it’s not enough you still have a SD card slot and a USB port to plug in your external memory device.

Still have a doubt comparing it with Apple iPad ?

I think its rightly said by the company:
"It's not a tablet, neither a book reader. It's a new species, and we call it
ADAM - The First."

We will be eagerly waiting for July’10 when Notion Ink ”Adam” hits the market and the suspense is silenced with a better tablet PC completely “Made In India”.
